Set in turn-of-the-20th-century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.” When newspapers in the city refuse to lower the price of papers for the newsies, they retaliate with a strike—hitting tycoons like Joseph Pulitzer where it hurts. Based on the 1992 film, and inspired by the Newsboys’ Strike of 1899, this show provides thrills and plot twists, all while teaching lifelong lessons on how to fight for what you believe in.
