Do you love animals? So do we! But did you know it takes more than zookeepers and veterinarians to keep the Zoo thriving?
Join us for a special career exploration event where you’ll discover how your unique skills, talents, and passions can connect to exciting professions at the Minnesota Zoo. From creative storytellers and tech-savvy problem-solvers to scientists, artists, engineers, and educators—there’s a place for every talent to make an impact.
Come see how your future career path could support the animals you love and the Zoo’s mission to inspire connections with the natural world.
On this tour students will:
- Take a class exploring the careers of Zoo Keeping and Conservation Biology.
- Observe and learn about Exhibit Design & Veterinary/Animal Health careers.
- Explore the zoo for many more career pathways in 3 areas: Animals, People and Operations.
- Meet with Zoo employees, ask questions and hear about their journey towards their current career path.
- See a few animals along the way!

Getting to the Tour
All tours start at the Project Success office located at 1 Groveland Terrace, Minneapolis, MN 55403.
You can:
- Get dropped off at the PS office
- Take a city bus to the PS office
- Use a PS shuttle from select schools – click here for more information
PS shuttle pick-up times:
- Camden HS (Front Entrance on Newton Ave.) – 7:30 am
- North HS (Main Entrance on James Ave.) – 7:45 am
- Edison HS (Main Entrance on 22nd Ave. NE) – 7:45 am
- South HS (32nd St Side by Door #1) – 7:45 am
- Washburn HS (49th St Side by Door #3) – 7:30 am
A PS staff member will be at each stop 15 minutes early to help and ride with you. Shuttles may be a school bus, coach, small van, or driven by PS staff.
Food
- We provide lunch and snacks.
- We try to meet dietary needs – but feel free to bring your own food if needed.
What to Bring/Wear
- Comfortable walking shoes – we walk a lot!
- Check the weather and dress for the day.
- Suggested items:
- Water bottle
- Small bag
- Notebook & pencil
- Extra snacks
