Letters Aloud: Be the Change

Letters Aloud presents BE THE CHANGE, a lively and inspiring performance that brings to life over a dozen letters written by young people to their heroes throughout history, the responses they received, and their powerful impact on society.  

Among the many letters in this program, Stan Lee makes good on a decades old promise, a 9-year-old hoopster consults NBA superstar Steph Curry on his shoe empire, a teenaged Tom Hanks tries to get “discovered”, and an 11-year-old girl tells Abraham Lincoln to grow a beard.  

Our production will include letters written by St. Kate’s students and community members. BE THE CHANGE is a powerful reminder that writing one single letter can truly change the world.

Themes

Who is someone, either alive today or someone from the past, that you’d like to write a letter to? Why that person, and what would you want to say?

Accessibility

Many performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating, assistive listening, sensory ear plugs, ASL interpretation, open captioning, or audio description, among other options. These accommodations are specific to each event, and may not be available everywhere. When registering with us, please let us know what accommodations you need and we will follow up with you!

Transportation

If you do not have access to a ride, call Project Success and we can provide transportation for you. Please let us know if you need a ride when you make your reservation. We will need at least 2 days’ notice to set up transportation.
