Kung Fu Zombies vs. Southeast Asian Girl Scouts
WE SO DESERVE A BADGE FOR THIS
Follow Thin Mint, Samoa, and Do-Si-Do as they protect their Saint Paul community, which was abandoned by local authorities during the zombie apocalypse. Between helping their elders, doing medicine runs, and building campfires, they’ve probably earned, like, four Gold Awards each. But what if the zombies aren’t the most dangerous monsters out there?
Please note: This performance is a preview.
Additionally, the restrooms in the Frey Theater are not wheelchair accessible due to the age of the building. On the day of your visit, please ask an usher and they will guide you to the nearest accessible restroom in the adjacent building.
Content Warnings/Age Recommendations
Contains onstage violence, zombies, sexual innuendo and adult language. This performance is recommended for ages 12 and older with parent/guardian discretion.
Themes
- The main characters are young people who have taken on leadership roles for their community, after local authorities abandoned them. What are real world examples of people stepping up when those in charge fail or give up?
- In the apocalyptic environment of the play, there are strong reasons to not trust strangers right away; most people are trying to survive with little regard for others. The real world can feel like this as well. But what might we lose if we stop trusting each other? How can we keep ourselves and each other safe in a deeply unsafe time?
