Before joining Project Success in 2026, Tanner served as the executive director at MinnPost, where he led the organization’s management, strategy, and a significant growth of both its revenue and staff size. He’s worked in nonprofit development and communications since 2011, having previously served as the development director at MinnPost and the membership director at The Loft Literary Center. Tanner has shared his fundraising expertise at numerous conferences, and he moderates conversations with civic and cultural leaders at community events. He graduated with a B. A. in English and creative writing from Coe College.
At Project Success, Tanner leads the organization’s fundraising and communications, connecting community partners who share our passion to connect young people with their purpose and plan for their future. He grew up as a country kid in Iowa and now lives in south Minneapolis where he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, volunteering on the board of Theater Latté Da, chatting with strangers in coffee shops, and watching soccer (especially Arsenal FC and Aurora FC). At least according to Spotify, he’s in the top .01% of Beyoncé fans worldwide.
