Sarah grew up on a farm in Ohio before heading to Wheaton College to study English and Theater. She is excited to live in Minneapolis for the first time after working in Chicago in lots of different kinds of roles involving storytelling, including acting with several theaters in and around Chicago. She was also a theater instructor in Chicago Public Schools, directed a drama program, and worked with after-school programs devising plays and developing literacy skills with students.

She also worked in museum programs facilitation at the Museum of Science and Industry, and at the Art Institute of Chicago through Museum Hack, using art as a storytelling tool and encouraging museum guests to have much more fun in museums than they thought was possible.

She’s extremely excited to work with students again, and looks forward to exploring the twin cities little by little every day.

Favorite theater experience:

I saw An Iliad at the Court Theater, a one-man show basically just about war. I don’t like war, but I’ve never felt so captivated and couldn’t believe I was just watching one person. He basically just talked to himself as different characters for most of the show and everyone forgot it was just him! Magic.

I would want to have a power that helps me see the future outcomes of my decisions and other people’s decisions.

My mom! She is the strongest person I know. Also my senior English teacher, Mr. Ceccoli, who helped me think critically about what I was reading for the first time in my life.

Professional horseback rider. I also thought I might be a teacher and I WISHED to be an actor but was too scared to commit to it until I graduated from college.
