Originally from St. Paul, Kathleen graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a B.A. in Communication and International Studies. After serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the St. Paul Public Schools Foundation where she created the Reading Buddies mentor program, she knew she had found her place working with youth. Most recently she served as a Tutor and Technology Resource Associate at People Serving People, where she wrote and delivered curriculum to help the academic success of many students in highly mobile situations. Kathleen is currently working on her M.A. in English as a Second Language at Hamline University. Travel and learning about other cultures is a huge part of Kathleen’s life, she has visited 27 countries (hoping to do 30 countries before she turns 30!) and has lived in the Czech Republic, Italy, and New Zealand. Her passion for working with youth brought her to Project SUCCESS in 2014 and she is so excited to learn and grow with her students.
