  • The life of Sor Juana invites us to consider how love can manifest in different forms. She deeply loved learning, and expressing herself freely. This was as important to her as anything else in life. Is there something that you value above all else? If so, what is it? What would you sacrifice to keep it?
  • The Spanish Inquisition was active during her time, which meant that criticizing authority figures in the Catholic Church could bring dire consequences. Where does one find the courage to speak up, despite the risk to oneself?
