A cherished holiday tradition<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

Each Christmas, the miserly and miserable Ebenezer Scrooge greets the holiday with \u201cBah! Humbug!\u201d and can\u2019t be bothered to celebrate. One Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by three spirits who show him happy memories from his past, difficult realities from the present and a grim future should he continue his closed-hearted ways. Throughout his journey, Scrooge is forced to reckon with the man he has become and contemplate the man he could be \u2014 but only if his restless night leads to a change of heart by morning. Filled with hope and festivity, the Guthrie\u2019s cherished holiday tradition continues to bring joy to theatergoers of all ages.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This story highlights the potential for people to change, even after a lifetime of behaving the same way. However, Scrooge is moved to finally change through an extraordinary experience, with ghosts taking him on a journey through his life. Most of us aren’t going to experience something like this.
