Set in ancient Rome\, the play begins during the festival of Lupercalia\, where Julius Caesar is celebrated for his military victories. SUMMARY:Gutenberg! The Musical!
DESCRIPTION:Fresh off its hit Broadway premiere\, Gutenberg! The Musical! is a clever\, offbeat\, frequently absurd comedy that affectionately spoofs the world of musical theater. This love letter to new works is told through the lens of two aspiring writers earnestly pitching their wildly inaccurate musical about the invention of the printing press\, blending infectious enthusiasm\, witty songs\, and irreverent historical twists.   \nTwin Cities theater luminary Tyler Michaels King returns to Latté Da\, this time wearing the (trucker) hat of Director. Equal parts satire and celebration\, Gutenberg! is a fast-paced theatrical romp that revels in the art of making something out of nothing—one song and one dream at a time.  \nNote: Due to limited ticket numbers\, teachers and students can register for the 3/31 preview performance\, but the 4/10 performance is reserved for students and family members only. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance contains comic depictions of violence (intentionally exaggerated for humor)\, mild adult language and innuendo\, rapid character-switching and use of stereotypes for parody\, as well as stylized haze and flashing lights. Recommended for ages 12 and older with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\nThis show is about two writer/performers writing a musical based on real history\, but with an invented storyline. This style of art is sometimes called “historical fiction.” What might be the purpose of this kind of story\, compared to a story based on verifiable facts? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. These accommodations are specific to each event\, and may not be available everywhere. When registering with us\, please let us know what accommodations you need and we will follow up with you! \nTransportation\nIf you do not have access to a ride\, call Project Success and we can provide transportation for you. Please let us know if you need a ride when you make your reservation. We will need at least 2 days’ notice to set up transportation. \nAdditional Media\nSince this show is about the invention of the Gutenberg printing press\, here is a look at a real-life printing press and how it worked:

SUMMARY:Hungry Like the Wolf
DESCRIPTION:Playwright Sandra Struthers delivers a thought-provoking new comedy that dives into the critical\, ongoing fight for labor rights and gender equity. The production launches from the groundbreaking history of the Willmar Eight\, the women who led the first American bank strike right here in Minnesota.   \nThis dynamic piece uses this historical foundation to explore related themes\, including the subsequent ’80s film\, McCarthyism\, and the political life of director Lee Grant. It is an unforgettable blend of history\, humor\, and essential social commentary\, all punctuated by an infectious ’80s energy and a fierce Duran Duran obsession.  \nThe runtime is about 95 minutes with no intermission.  \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance contains workplace harassment\, discussion of sexual assault and violence\, as well as strong language. Recommended for ages 13 and older. \nThemes\nThe real-life Willmar 8 were standing up against a powerful employer\, in order to change their world for the better. When they began picketing\, it was December of 1977 and the windchill was -70 degrees F. Whether or not they reached their goal\, they understood that their efforts could inspire others as well. Later in life\, one of them was asked what she wanted her legacy to be. Her answer was: “That I tried.” If you had a chance to speak with the Willmar 8\, what would you say? \nChildcare\nChildcare is available for this performance. Please let us know if you need childcare when you make your reservation. \nAdditional Media\nA documentary was made about the strike by Lee Grant\, who is also featured in the show. Here is a short trailer\, and it gives a glimpse into the community’s views on the strike.

DESCRIPTION:The Joy List is a powerful original dance theater production that follows one man’s journey through love\, loss\, and rediscovery.  Inspired by the play “Every Brilliant Thing” (coming to Broadway featuring Daniel Radcliffe) this dance theater production brings to life all the little things that spark joy.   \nAs a child\, Chris’ mother encourages him to begin a list of things that spark joy—ice cream\, water balloons\, soccer—but as life takes its turns\, the list is lost\, then found again at just the right moment. Through emotional storytelling and evocative movement\, The Joy List is a moving celebration of hope\, resilience\, connection and the everyday sparks of joy that keep us going.  \nThis performance runs 75 minutes with no intermission. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains themes such as mental health\, death and grief. This performance is recommended for all ages with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\n\nThis show highlights the ways that even small things in life can keep us going\, when we pay attention to them and celebrate them. What is a small thing in life that you deeply enjoy? \n\n\nThis show depicts deep\, profound loss\, and explores how we can move forward while experiencing this loss. This year\, as well as the last several years\, we in Minnesota have experienced profound loss in multiple forms. What are ways that we can support each other in trying to heal and move forward in a healthy way?\n\nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. SUMMARY:Wicked Wisdom
DESCRIPTION:Harmony. Belonging. Connection.\nTune into the genius musical storytelling of Stephen Schwartz\, whose songs inspire us to dream\, to care deeply\, and to listen to voices too often overlooked. But this is more than a tribute\, it’s an invitation to reconnect. \nAt the heart of the concert is Song of Wisdom from Old Turtle\, a breathtaking choral-orchestral journey that brings the beloved book\, Old Turtle by Minnesota author Douglas Wood\, to life. With the power of over 200 voices\, the harmonies of See Change Treble Choir\, and the visual poetry of In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre\, this one-of-a-kind performance weaves together myth\, music\, and nature while reminding us that in the language of story and song\, we find the power to heal\, to hope\, and to belong. \n*The 2:30pm performance will have ASL interpretation. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance is recommended for all ages. \nThemes\nThis concert features the story Old Turtle. In this story\, an argument between several creatures is interrupted by the voice of someone that rarely speaks up. This choice to speak has a positive impact on the rest of the story. Are there times in life when it feels hard or scary to speak up about something? What motivates you to speak about something you care about? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. SUMMARY:Meg Stuart & Doug Weiss
DESCRIPTION:For Meg Stuart\, the body is a memory palace. Known for her punk spirit and raw physicality\, Stuart explores bodily consciousness through collective improvisation. In All the Way Around\, the Berlin-based dance star is joined by avant-jazz bassist Doug Weiss and pianist Mariana Carvalho. Together\, they create a shifting landscape of shared somatic knowledge. With limited seating\, this performance offers audiences an intimate window into the emergence of a new body of memories.  \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance is recommended for ages 10 and older. \nThemes\nThis show is considered\, by today’s standards\, a minimal performance. Despite all the technology and wide range of instruments and tools available today\, they choose to feature one dancer and one upright bass player\, along with a pianist. What might this choice indicate about their goals and priorities as artists? What are other examples of doing a lot with comparatively little? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. These accommodations are specific to each event\, and may not be available everywhere. When registering with us\, please let us know what accommodations you need and we will follow up with you! \nTransportation\nIf you do not have access to a ride\, call Project Success and we can provide transportation for you. Please let us know if you need childcare when you make your reservation. \nAdditional Media\nHere is a brief sample of Stuart’s and Weiss’s work:

SUMMARY:Hmong Futures: The Future of Us
DESCRIPTION:AN INTERGENERATIONAL STORY OF HEALING\nHmong Futures: The Future of Us is an intergenerational story asking what it takes for a family to move from surviving to thriving. Anchoring the play are its protagonists\, three Hmong American women\, and it examines the conversations\, daily rituals\, and little moments that help us heal. To create this world premiere\, playwright Katie Ka Vang held community engagement events and discussions in 2025\, during the 50th anniversary of Southeast Asian people in Minnesota.   \n“As a first-generation Hmong American\, my worldview was largely shaped by my refugee parents’ lived experiences related to political persecution\, traumatic experiences\, displacement\, and poverty\, and I hope my work is a vessel for myself and my community to co-create ideas that point toward liberation and transformation\,” says Katie. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance contains description of ICE raids\, strong adult language\, and a description of a physical fight between family members. Recommended for ages 13 and older with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\n\nOne theme in this show is the difference of perspective between generations. What are ways that you have been able to learn from (and maybe teach) those from earlier generations?\n\n\nThis family carries years of pain and doesn’t always speak about it openly. But in one way or another\, it becomes clear that things needs to be talked about. How might you approach sensitive or complicated conversations with loved ones?\n\nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. \nAdditional Media\nHere is a short video about the history of Hmong communities in Minnesota:

SUMMARY:Gutenberg! The Musical!
DESCRIPTION:Please note: this performance is currently waitlist only. \nFresh off its hit Broadway premiere\, Gutenberg!

Set in a psychiatric hospital\, characters from Alice in Wonderland face challenges\, explore what “normal” means\, and share an uplifting story of empathy\, acceptance\, and friendship in the face of mental illness. The story is told using Collide’s signature blend of high-energy dance set to a pop-rock soundtrack. \nThe Detention Diaries is an educational dance-theater performance touring schools\, set in a high school detention room where students from different cliques—like the cheerleader\, the jock\, the rebel\, and the overachiever— are forced to confront the labels placed on them. The Detention Diaries brings to life the untold stories behind the labels students often carry and peels back the stereotypes to reveal the real struggles hiding underneath. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance contains mature themes including mental health\, bullying\, homophobia and absent parents. Recommended for ages 10 and older. \nThemes\nThis performance focuses on both mental and communal health. How might mental health and healthy community be related? Why do you think Collide Theatrical Dance brought these two shows together?
