Located on Lake Superior’s shore\, the campus is perfect for outdoor fun like hiking and kayaking. With small classes and a focus on internships and community service\, UMD prepares students for real careers in a supportive\, active community.  \nHamline University 8:30 am – 1:00 pm\nHamline University is a historic\, close-knit liberal arts campus located in Saint Paul\, Minnesota\, characterized by its deep-rooted history as the state’s oldest university. But did you know it takes more than zookeepers and veterinarians to keep the Zoo thriving?   \nJoin us for a special career exploration event where you’ll discover how your unique skills\, talents\, and passions can connect to exciting professions at the Minnesota Zoo. From creative storytellers and tech-savvy problem-solvers to scientists\, artists\, engineers\, and educators—there’s a place for every talent to make an impact.\nCome see how your future career path could support the animals you love and the Zoo’s mission to inspire connections with the natural world.   \nOn this tour students will:   \n\nTake a class exploring the careers of Zoo Keeping and Conservation Biology.  \nObserve and learn about Exhibit Design & Veterinary/Animal Health careers.  \nExplore the zoo for many more career pathways in 3 areas: Animals\, People and Operations.   \nMeet with Zoo employees\, ask questions and hear about their journey towards their current career path.  \nSee a few animals along the way!   \n\nNorth Hennepin Community College (NHCC) & Hennepin Technical College (HTC)  8:30 am- 3:00 pm  \nNorth Hennepin Community College offers over 70 degree and certificate programs\, with strong pathways in nursing\, business\, and computer science\, designed both for immediate careers and smooth transfers to four-year universities. In addition\, we will meet with faculty of the Outdoor and Environmental Leadership program.  If you are passionate about the outdoors and the environment and want a career in areas like environmental education\, outdoor recreation\, tribal conservation\, cultural preservation\, and sustainable development – you definitely want to check this out!   \nHennepin Technical College focuses entirely on hands-on training for high-demand\, high-paying technical careers. It is the largest stand-alone technical college in the state and features a 100% acceptance rate with a direct focus on getting students into the workforce immediately. “Learn by doing” in a hands-on environment with state-of-the-art equipment by industry experts. This tour will highlight trades in Automotive\, Healthcare\, Construction\, Culinary\, Landscaping\, Emergency\, Public and Social Services\, and more!   \nJoin us for both these tours\, located just north on Minneapolis in Brooklyn Park\, and learn about their exciting programs and PSEO opportunities!
