SUMMARY:On the Razzle!
DESCRIPTION:When their employer departs for a reckless romantic escapade\, two young shop assistants seize their moment. Determined “to acquire a past before it’s too late\,” they abandon their provincial responsibilities and head to Vienna for a spree that quickly spirals into a whirlwind of mistaken identities\, romantic misfires\, elaborate lies\, and breathless pursuit. \nTom Stoppard’s On the Razzle is a joyous explosion of language and farce. Wit flies as fast as doors slam. Romance is impulsive\, impractical\, and irresistible. Beneath the high jinks and double entendres lies something tender: the longing to live boldly\, to risk embarrassment\, and to seize youth before it slips away. What unfolds is a night of theatrical mayhem that builds toward a crescendo of comic precision and sheer delight. \nThemes: A joyous exploration of youthful rebellion\, romantic mischief\, and the irresistible pull of adventure. The play celebrates risk\, reinvention\, and the chaos that unfolds when responsibility is abandoned for one unforgettable night. \nRuntime is approximately 2 hours 15 minutes\, including intermission. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains mature language\, sexual innuendo and physical objectification. This performance is recommended for ages 11 and older with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\nThe main characters choose to go on an adventure\, in hopes of creating memories they can enjoy and share with others. Do you ever make decisions in the hope of remembering them well later in life? Why or why not? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. These accommodations are specific to each event\, and may not be available everywhere. When registering with us\, please let us know what accommodations you need and we will follow up with you! \nTransportation\nIf you do not have access to a ride\, call Project Success and we can provide transportation for you. Please let us know if you need a ride when you make your reservation. We will need at least 2 days’ notice to set up transportation. \nChildcare\nChildcare is available for this performance. Please let us know if you need childcare when you make your reservation.

SUMMARY:The Butler Did It
DESCRIPTION:Please note: this performance is currently waitlist only. \nA witty and suspenseful comedy thriller in the grand tradition of Dial M for Murder and Columbo. \nJeffrey Hatcher’s original mystery\, The Butler Did It\, takes audiences to a school for butlers that serves the fabulously rich\, where a perfect murder has just been committed. The butler did it… but which butler? How? Why? And will the culprit get away with it when an unassuming detective named Inspector Denise is on the case? \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains mature themes including murder. This performance is recommended for ages 14 and older. \nThemes\n\nSome butler training includes adopting the mindset that you need to set your personal humanity aside while you’re at work. Some believe that personal emotions have no place in the workplace. Do you think this is true of other fields of work? If so\, what is one example that comes to mind?\n\n\nBeing a successful butler requires close attention to detail\, and sometimes it may be hard to understand why that level of detail is necessary. This is true for many jobs\, and maybe even in your work as a student. How might we motivate ourselves to maintain strict attention to detail\, especially in the moments that we don’t enjoy it?\n\nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. \nAdditional Media\nIt may not be common knowledge that there are schools that teach the skills to be a professional butler. Since this play is a murder mystery set in such a school\, you might like to know more about that environment in advance. Below are two options. The first video is pretty short and gives a general overview of the training that some receive. The second video is about a half hour\, but it is entertaining and informative. Whichever video you choose (if not both)\, try to imagine how a murder mystery could be written in this setting. Then at the show\, see how much of your vision is reflected in the show! \nShort video:  \n\nLong video:

SUMMARY:It's Only a Play
DESCRIPTION:A fast-paced\, laugh-out-loud comedy that celebrates – and lovingly skewers – the theatre world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn the opening night of The Golden Egg\, wealthy producer Julia Budder hosts a lavish Manhattan party. Downstairs\, celebrities are arriving\, but upstairs\, the playwright\, director\, leading lady\, and other insiders anxiously await the first reviews.  \nAs egos clash and ambitions run wild\, hilarity ensues in this sharp\, affectionate look at the highs and lows of show business. With a venomous critic and an eager newcomer thrown into the mix\, It’s Only A Play reminds us: in the theatre\, sometimes the real drama happens offstage.  \n“This show is without a doubt hilariously\, sidesplittingly funny…These are among the funniest lines to roll off a stage in years…It’s Only A Play deserves only a rave.” – The New York Times.  \nPerformance Venue\nPark Square Theatre \nAll Performance Dates\nWednesday\, 9/24 at 7pm\nThursday\, 9/25 at 7pm  \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis production includes depictions of simulated drug use\, references to addiction\, explicit or coarse language\, and suggestive innuendo. Recommended for ages 14 and older. \nThemes\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis show highlights the value that artists place on the opinions and reviews of others. While there are real financial consequences if their work is poorly received\, you may find that some of these characters are more stressed out than others. Have you ever created something (a song\, a food dish\, an essay etc) that others didn’t like? If so\, did that have an impact on your future creations?\nTwo of the artists are friends\, and one artist is afraid to give their honest opinion about what their friend created. Why do you think honest feedback can be scary or difficult?\n\nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options.
These accommodations are specific to each event\, and may not be available everywhere.
