Celebrating a Record Year for MEA College Tour Boot Camp

October 13, 2015

This week, a group of more than 400 students will embark on our fourth annual MEA College Tour Boot Camp. We are so pleased to have our largest number of applications ever for our college tours this year!

Project Success is proud to serve seven high schools in the Minneapolis Public School system, and our college tours are open to all students at those schools we serve — Edison, NAAC, Patrick Henry, Roosevelt, South, Southwest and Washburn. The boot camp will bring students to 12 colleges throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. The day-long tours begin October 14 and span three days. In addition to the MEA College Tour Boot Camp, we’ll be offering single day college tours on October 29 and 30.

You can track our Boot Camp experience using hashtag #PSCollegeTour15 on your social media channels. A full list of the colleges we’ll be visiting this fall — in addition to a comprehensive list of those we’ve visited in the past — can be found by visiting our college tours page.

According to Minneapolis Public Schools, 67 percent of all students who attend a Project Success college tour are more likely to graduate on time.

We are so pleased with the response we’ve had to our college tours and recognize the positive impact these tours have on students, both personally and academically. Our college tours are a valuable resource for students as we encourage them to dream about their futures and think critically about what they’re searching for in a college experience. In addition to the experience of touring campus, our staff members offer workshops on tour days — guiding students in preparing thoughtful questions for admissions staff — and our facilitators work with students one-on-one throughout their application and post-secondary planning process. Our ultimate goal is to help students to develop the skills and insight required to choose the best college for their individual needs, and we seek to support them every step of the way.

This spring, we’ll also be offering spring break tours to both Wisconsin and Chicago-area schools. Keep an eye on our college tours page for more information.
