PS College Conversations Podcast Launches Season 3

November 10, 2021

Need tips on college essay writing? Or how to help manage stress? Season 3 of our Project Success podcast, College Conversations, is live! Our episodes help students with these specific questions and much more. This season there are five new robust episodes centered on meeting students where they are in their future planning and helping them achieve their post-secondary goals. Project Success’ College and Careers team listened to students’ questions and answered them with topics such as essay writing, stress and money management, and healthcare.  PS Program Coordinator Savannah Bustillo hosted each episode, alongside a rotating facilitator co-host with a variety of guests, including MPS students from partner schools and speakers who have expertise in their respective fields.

College Conversations was created in 2020 by Savanah Bustillo and other PS staff when they recognized the potential to share important advice and stories about future planning during the pandemic through an additional medium – podcasts. The topics themselves are evergreen, so our high school students and families can continue to reference at any time in their future planning process. Episodes are available on Apple Podcast and Spotify, as well as featured on our Project Success podcast webpage. We have also added other planning resources ranging from loan trackers to free mental health management tools, including a “Next Steps” section by PS Facilitators to lead viewers in mini workshops about each episode. Project Success continues to innovate how we reach students within the channels that they frequent. Check out all the live podcast episodes and their resources here!

Shout out to Savanah Bustillo, who created the podcast concept, wrote scripts, and hosted this final season, along with our Facilitator hosts Kyle, Alana, Hana, Andy, and April. Former Project Success College and Careers Program Manager Kiah, and Laura, our Director of Schools & Curriculum were also instrumental in bringing the podcast series to life.

Savannah shared, “What I’ve always loved about the podcast is that these are real conversations with students about what they care about when they think about their future – not just what an admission’s officer decides to share or even what I, as the writer, tries to steer the conversation to. Students supply our questions and have been encouraged and supported throughout the process to tell us what they want. That’s what makes this podcast unique.”
