Project Success’ 2022 Annual Fielding Dreams with the Minnesota Twins

May 20, 2022

Project Success returned to the Twins’ ballpark this year on May 13th to host our 18th annual Fielding Dreams event!

Since its inception, this event has grown into a successful and vital community partnership between Project Success and the Minnesota Twins. We began at the Metrodome years ago, and then moved to Target Field. Over nearly 20 years, more than 120 companies have supported Fielding Dreams, positively impacting more than 200,000 young people and their families. The event has raised over $1 million for Project Success programming for children in Twin Cities public schools.

“Each year I attend the event I am reminded of the community of generous giving by local companies in furtherance of helping students achieve goals they might never have imagined without this funding and Project Success’ curriculum.  This is truly hitting a home run!”

– Charlie Montreuil, Fielding Dreams Event Chair, Best Buy Vice President and Project Success Board Member

As part of this year’s event, Sanford Middle School students from our “Beauty and the Beast” student musical had a chance to get a behind the scenes look at Target Field as they recorded a new Public Service Announcement (PSA) with 1987 Twins’ World Series Champion, Tim Laudner. Thanks to Tim for a fabulous afternoon together and to Calvin Brue Video Productions.

Check out the new PSA!

A group of fans were also treated to a special pre-game event at “Chalk Talk” to hear a behind-the-scenes perspective from long-time lead Twins’ broadcaster, Dick Bremer.  As Dick said, “every day you’re going to see something different at the ballpark.”  He also shared stories of the challenges broadcasting virtually during the pandemic and how some 40 years later he is still thrilled to be announcing the play by play for the MN Twins.

Our 18th annual Fielding Dreams event was extra special as we welcomed 1,500 students and their families to the game! Tickets were generously donated by the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club. Project Success students from the Sanford musical also performed on the field before the game and threw out the first pitch! Thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers who made our night at the ball game a fun and celebratory event  And to top it off the Twins’ beat the Cleveland Guardians 12-8 on a beautiful spring evening on the roof deck!

We were honored to partner with this year’s sponsors (below).
