Give, Bid and Be Merry on eBay: Support College Tour Scholarships

November 22, 2016

Project Success will be hosting an eBay auction running now through Tuesday, November 29 to help double the amount of college tour scholarships available for students.

As you plan your holiday and end-of-year giving, Give, Bid and Be Merry for Project Success. Among the more than 30 items up for auction on eBay are a mini iPad; Wild, Timberwolves and Lynx merchandise; opening night tickets at the Guthrie Theater; a Destination Kohler Stay and Play package; fitness memberships and personal training sessions; and many local Twin Cities gift cards.

Visit our Project Success eBay page to bid on these items. 100 percent of what we raise will help students attend our college tours and plan for successful futures.

At Project Success, we help students take the practical steps needed to dream, plan, succeed and thrive in life. A key part of our programming is opening doors for students to explore a variety of post-secondary options. Project Success organizes and hosts state and national college and technical school tours to more than 40 campuses each year. These are critical opportunities that both inspire and educate students — including first-generation college applicants — about post-secondary education opportunities.

“I learned more than just what this college was like — I learned about myself, and I learned more about what I want in a school. I think about the young adults who wouldn’t be able to visit these schools without a program like this one. You give hope to students who never even thought about college. Their futures are brighter now.” Damari, 11th grade, Project Success College Tour Participant

Thanks to donor support, a large portion of these tours are free of cost to students, but some overnight tours require a trip fee. In the past, we’ve traveled everywhere from Chicago to Atlanta and Boston on Project Success college tours. These immersive experiences allow students not only to tour campuses, but to compare and contrast different options, participate in Project Success workshops that prepare them to apply and plan for college, and broaden their worldview as they visit places outside of Minnesota.

Many students are able to participate with the help of scholarships to cover their trip fee. In recent years, we have received an increasing number of requests for college tour scholarships, making your contributions more impactful than ever.
