Project Success Welcomes New Staff

This summer, Project Success welcomed 10 new staff members! Our staff has grown and changed significantly in the last few months –including four new classroom facilitators, a new director of operations, and changes and additions in our program, development and external relations teams. These changes were put in place to further refine and deepen our service to youth and their families. We now have a total of 29 staff working to serve students in 15 Minneapolis public schools and further our goal to help young people dream, plan and succeed.

We are pleased to introduce you to our new staff:

Alissa Paris
Facilitator, Washburn High School
Alissa is a performance artist, choreographer, and youth advocate from the West Bank of Minneapolis, who recognizes the power in the intersections of performance art and social justice. She received her B.A. in dance, theater, and social justice in 2010 from the University of Minnesota. Read more about Alissa.

 

Amy Stubblefield
Communications Associate
Amy is an experienced communications professional whose background spans higher education, marketing and public relations agencies, magazine journalism and nonprofit marketing communications. Prior to joining Project Success, Amy worked in marketing for graduate education, leadership and counseling programs at the University of St. Thomas. Read more about Amy.

 

Frances Boehnlein
Experiential Learning Associate
Frances was born in India, raised in Minneapolis and is an alumna of Project SUCCESS. She returned to the Twin Cities after living in Chicago and the Boston area for 10 years where she graduated with a B.A. in Communication Studies from DePaul University and a M.A. in International Development and Social Change from Clark University. Read more about Frances.

 

Haley Carneol
Facilitator, Franklin Middle and Edison High Schools
Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Haley graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a B.A. in Theater Arts, Child Psychology and Youth Studies. While studying at the U of M, Haley performed in several university theatrical productions, in addition to working with professional companies in the Twin Cities, including the Moving Company and Theater Novi Most. Read more about Haley.

 

Katie Langemo
Theater Coordinator
Katieis a native of “The Magic City” of Minot, ND where she completed her B.A. degree at Minot State University with a double major in Theater Arts and Music. A life-long theater participant, Katie has held many roles onstage and backstage throughout the years and especially enjoys choreographing musicals for Minot State’s Summer Theatre Company. Read more about Katie.

 

Khary Jackson
Theater Curriculum Associate
Kharyis a writer, dancer, musician and youth worker. Originally from Detroit, he has worked in the Twin Cities since 2004. As a spoken word artist, he has been a finalist in four national poetry competitions, as well as winning the 2009 and 2010 national slam with the St. Paul team. Read more about Khary.

 

Kiah Eide
Theater Coordinator
Kiah graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in 2013, where she majored in Business Management and Organizational Behavior. After college, she worked in feature length films in various coordination positions. Read more about Kiah.

 

Lauren Ries
Facilitator, Anne Sullivan Communication Center,
Jefferson Middle, and Roosevelt High Schools
Originally from Saint Paul, Lauren graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in French and Francophone studies. After spending time in Martinique as an English-teaching assistant, she decided to move to Dakar, Senegal in West Africa where she had previously spent eight months studying abroad during her time at the U. She lived and worked in Dakar for one and a half years as a theater, art, and ESL teacher at a bilingual school, which inspired her to continue using the arts as a way to empower young people. Read more about Lauren.
