College Tour Update: Overnights, Day Trips, and Upcoming Tours

Since our College Tour Boot Camp in October 2014 over MEA week we have continued to offer opportunities for our Minneapolis High School students to visit more campuses this school year, and we have many more to come!
On October 31, while school was not in session, we brought 51 students on an overnight tour out of state. On our tour to Wisconsin schools, 29 students visited Marquette University, University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. We also brought 22 students to North Dakota to tour North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota, along with a visit to Minnesota State University – Moorhead!
Our next round of tours occurred on January 16 while students were out of school, and Project Success brought 86 high school students on in-state day trip tours to St. Olaf College, Carleton College and the University of St. Thomas.
For each of these campus visits, students toured the campus, heard from admissions staff, and participated in Project Success workshops to help them think about the questions they need to ask during the visit and the steps they need to take to get into college, including talking with their counselors, taking the SAT, filling out the FAFSA and so much more
We are looking forward to upcoming tours for our Minneapolis High School students, including in-state visits and our annual trip to visit schools in and near Chicago! Tours include:

- Hennepin Technical College and North Hennepin Community College
- McNally Smith College of Music and Minnesota Public Radio (MPR)
March 30 – April 2, 2015 (Spring Break)
- Chicago Area colleges and universities including Chicago State University, Columbia College Chicago, DePaul University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University Chicago, Northwestern University, Roosevelt University, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago.
