Sanford Students Wowed Audiences with “Charlie Brown”

December 8, 2014

On December 5 and 6, 2014, more than 90 Sanford Middle School’s 6th, 7th and 8th grade actors and technicians inspired and entertained audiences with heartwarming performances of the musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, a universal story about how finding our happiness and sharing it with others can shape who we are and where we want to go in life. Students began rehearsals in October and rehearsed every day – acting, dancing and singing – for eight weeks with professional artists and quality sound, lighting, sets and costumes.

Parents, teachers, students, district leaders and community members packed the house for performances and were left inspired, entertained, and impressed by the talents and efforts put forth by each performer and crew member. Congratulations to the cast and crew and all the families who supported them along the way!

Working hand-in-hand with students at Sanford Middle School, Project Success has produced yearly school musicals since 2009, including: AnnieThe WizJust SoJoseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and last year’s A Year With Frog and Toad.

This one-on-one contact between local artist educators and students, and the experience of the musical performance itself, is one of the key ways in which Project Success helps students build confidence, gain new experiences, and learn more about themselves and each other through the power of theater.
