Project Success Alumna shines at Generation Next Event

August 20, 2014

Yesterday was an exciting day for Project Success!  Generation Next, a broad partnership of organizations and leaders from across Minneapolis and St. Paul dedicated to educational excellence and narrowing the achievement and opportunity gap, held an Action Agenda announcement at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.  The audience included more than 500 corporate, school and foundation leaders/policy makers in the Twin Cities.

Project Success was invited to select a student to speak and we chose Husna Ibrahim, a Project Success alumna and Patrick Henry graduate.  She had the crowd on their feet with her inspiring story of “dream building.” Following the event, every major local TV and print media outlet interviewed her.  We are so proud of her!

“Project Success said you’re a kid, you have a dream, let’s talk!”  – Husna Ibrahim

The purpose of this event was to introduce three key strategies the Generation Next coalition will pursue to attack the Achievement Gap. Husna’s remarks shared how support from Project Success helped her achieve her dreams and how all students need this support.  She received a standing ovation and was included in multiple follow-up stories on the Generation Next action plan.  A few links included below:
