SUMMARY:Annie
DESCRIPTION:*Please note: this performance is currently waitlist only. \nLittle orphan Annie is given the chance of a lifetime when she’s invited to spend Christmas at the mansion of billionaire Oliver Warbucks in 1930s New York. With boundless optimism and charm\, Annie captures the hearts of everyone she meets—thwarting Miss Hannigan’s crooked plans along the way and discovering the true meaning of family. Full of iconic songs like “It’s a Hard Knock Life\,” “Easy Street\,” and the timeless anthem “Tomorrow\,” Annie is a joyful holiday tradition that the whole family will love.  \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance is recommended for ages 8 and older.  \nThemes\nAnnie and her fellow orphans experience mistreatment at the hands of the director of the orphanage\, Miss Hannigan. In the face of this unfortunate situation\, the children try to support each other as well as they can. How might this part of the story reflect the real world in 2025?  \nAnnie maintains optimism that her birth parents will return to find her one day. Her belief is challenged by others\, but it keeps her going on hard days. Is there something that keeps you motivated\, even if others disagree with you about it?  \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. These accommodations are specific to each event\, and may not be available everywhere. When registering with us\, please let us know what accommodations you need and we will follow up with you!  \nTransportation\nIf you do not have access to a ride\, call Project Success and we can provide transportation for you. Please let us know if you need a ride when you make your reservation. We will need at least 2 days’ notice to set up transportation.

When an exciting update about a West Side Story film arrives\, it is overshadowed by devastating news — their Manhattan tenement apartment is being demolished to build Lincoln Center\, and they have 30 days to vacate. Filled with music and dance\, this heartfelt family drama explores the tension between pursuing dreams and managing the realities of life.  \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains mature language and themes\, including frank sexual conversations\, use of a prop gun\, and offstage physical violence. This performance is recommended for ages 14 and older.  \nThemes\n\nAlejandro has placed his dreams of being a dancer aside\, choosing to work and financially support his siblings and mother. However\, his mother Inez believes deeply in the power of dreaming\, even in the face of a cruel reality. Which character do you relate to more in this situation\, and why?  \n\n\nOne major change the family faces is that their neighborhood is being demolished and rebuilt for something (and someone) else. How might this situation be reflected in our world today? \n\nAccessibility  \nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. \nChildcare\nChildcare is available for this performance. Please let us know if you need childcare when you make your reservation.
