DESCRIPTION:Threads Dance Project’s Fall season performance excavates how our notions and impressions about each other and the world inform our sense of space\, place\, and knowing. Artistic Director Karen L. Charles continues to explore how movement can spark a new abolitionist movement with the premiere of Part 2 of its Abolition in Evolution triptych – Shoes; additionally\, Objet de Desir Inaccessible which premiered at Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA) in 2019 will be reimagined for the stage.    \nShoes is an allegory using feet and the shoes that adorn them to represent journey\, judgment\, and individuality. “Our gait can reveal us to be buoyant or bullish\, dispirited or steadfast” (Cicely Tyson). DESCRIPTION:Note: The 10/23 performance is currently waitlist only. \nAn artful exploration of evil \nShakespeare’s greatest villains — Richard III\, Lady Macbeth\, Claudius and more — have captivated and tormented audiences for centuries. After decades of embodying the likes of Hades\, Scar and the Green Goblin\, acclaimed actor Patrick Page continues to be drawn to the layered motivations and complex psyches of these infamous evildoers. In this chilling and compelling solo show\, Page sheds the skin of one character as he jumps into the next while exploring how each villain is a window into the depths of the human heart. He concludes by prompting the audience with an even darker reflection: to confront and accept the trappings of evil inside us all.  \nThree things to know  \nAll the Devils Are Here became the second-highest rated show in New York City (after Hamilton) during its 2023 off-Broadway run\, which was extended multiple times due to popular demand.  \nPatrick Page has embodied numerous villains in his illustrious career\, including Hades in Hadestown\, the Green Goblin in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark\, Scar in The Lion King\, the Grinch in Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and more.  \nAfter every show\, Page has a conversation with the audience to unpack the play and discuss what they’ve learned\, almost as if the audience is his acting partner. \nPerformance Venue\nGuthrie Theater \n\n\nAll Performance Dates\nSunday\, 10/20\, 7pm\nWednesday\, 10/23\, 7:30pm\nSunday\, 10/27\, 7pm\n \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance is recommended for ages 14 and older. \nThemes\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis show invites us to consider how stage villains can reflect aspects of ourselves. Is there a character you enjoy or identify with that is viewed as a villain? If so\, what is it about the character that connects with you? And do you agree that this character is in fact a villain? \nActor Patrick Page delves deeply into a series of characters all created by the same author. Who is another author (or creator in general) whose work you’d like to see explored like this?\n\nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options.
