SUMMARY:Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Please note: this performance is currently waitlist only. \nClimb up to snowy Mount Crumpit and revel in the holiday story that makes hearts grow three sizes! In this hit musical spectacular\, the grumpy green Grinch hatches a plan to steal Christmas from the cheerful Whos of Who-ville—snatching trees\, swiping stockings\, and sneaking away with every last present. But when one small voice and a spark of holiday spirit shine through\, the Grinch begins to discover the true meaning of Christmas. Filled with music\, mischief\, and Seussian charm\, this joyful production sparkles with laughs\, warmth\, and a little holiday magic for the whole family.  \nRuntime is 1 hour and 50 minutes with one 15-minute intermission. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nYounger children may find The Grinch’s appearance\, loud musical moments\, and scenes of stealing or conflict somewhat frightening or overwhelming. The production is energetic\, visually busy\, and longer in length\, which may be challenging for very young audience members. Audience interaction and characters entering through the aisles may also surprise some children. This performance is recommended for ages 5 and up with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\nIn this show\, one small voice makes a big impact on a community. What are real-life examples of this? When has a perspective or voice\, considered unimportant by some\, made a positive difference? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. These accommodations are specific to each event\, and may not be available everywhere. When registering with us\, please let us know what accommodations you need and we will follow up with you! \nTransportation\nIf you do not have access to a ride\, call Project Success and we can provide transportation for you. Please let us know if you need a ride when you make your reservation. We will need at least 2 days’ notice to set up transportation. \nChildcare\nChildcare is available for this performance. Please let us know if you need childcare when you make your reservation.

SUMMARY:The Taming
DESCRIPTION:Tweetering\, panda shrews\, and undying giddiness for James Madison – what else could you expect to find at a Miss America pageant? In this hilarious\, raucous\, all-female “power-play” inspired by Shakespeare‘s Shrew\, contestant Katherine has political aspirations to match her beauty pageant ambitions. All she needs to revolutionize the American government is the help of one senator‘s aide on the cusp of a career breakthrough\, and one bleeding-heart liberal blogger who will do anything for her cause. Well\, that and a semi-historically-accurate ether trip. \nHere‘s lookin‘ at you\, America. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains some mature language and humor\, flashing lights and fog. This performance is recommended for ages 13 and older with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\nThe main character\, Katherine\, aims to 1) win the Miss America pageant and 2) reimagine the constitutional foundations of the country. This goal includes bringing two ideological opposites into the same room (whether they want to be or not). This is a comedy and purposely tells an over-the-top story\, but speaks to real questions about our direction as a country. Do you think Katherine will reach her goals in this play? Why or why not? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. SUMMARY:La Bayadère
DESCRIPTION:Metropolitan Ballet presents La Bayadère (The Temple Dancer)\, one of the absolute pillars of classical ballet\, first choreographed by Marius Petipa in 1877 to music by Ludwig Minkus. This performance is recommended for ages 10 and older with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\nIn this story\, plans are repeatedly made that do not consider the wishes of those impacted. SUMMARY:Kung Fu Zombies vs. Southeast Asian Girl Scouts
DESCRIPTION:WE SO DESERVE A BADGE FOR THIS\nFollow Thin Mint\, Samoa\, and Do-Si-Do as they protect their Saint Paul community\, which was abandoned by local authorities during the zombie apocalypse. Between helping their elders\, doing medicine runs\, and building campfires\, they’ve probably earned\, like\, four Gold Awards each. But what if the zombies aren’t the most dangerous monsters out there?  \nPlease note: This performance is a preview. \nAdditionally\, the restrooms in the Frey Theater are not wheelchair accessible due to the age of the building. On the day of your visit\, please ask an usher and they will guide you to the nearest accessible restroom in the adjacent building. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains onstage violence\, zombies\, sexual innuendo and adult language. This performance is recommended for ages 12 and older with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\n\nThe main characters are young people who have taken on leadership roles for their community\, after local authorities abandoned them. What are real world examples of people stepping up when those in charge fail or give up?\nIn the apocalyptic environment of the play\, there are strong reasons to not trust strangers right away; most people are trying to survive with little regard for others. The real world can feel like this as well. But what might we lose if we stop trusting each other? How can we keep ourselves and each other safe in a deeply unsafe time?\n\nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. SUMMARY:On the Razzle!
DESCRIPTION:When their employer departs for a reckless romantic escapade\, two young shop assistants seize their moment. Determined “to acquire a past before it’s too late\,” they abandon their provincial responsibilities and head to Vienna for a spree that quickly spirals into a whirlwind of mistaken identities\, romantic misfires\, elaborate lies\, and breathless pursuit. \nTom Stoppard’s On the Razzle is a joyous explosion of language and farce. SUMMARY:Cine Latino: A Song For My Land
DESCRIPTION:This documentary features Ramiro Lezcano\, a teacher who believes in the transformative power of music. In a rural school in Argentina\, he sets out to bring children into the world of artistic creation. What begins as a simple exercise in writing and singing songs\, soon opens a window onto a reality that cannot be ignored: the agrochemical spraying taking place in the farming area surrounding the school. The children begin to write about what they see\, feel\, and experience. \nAs the songs grow\, so does the project. Faced with resistance from local farmers and silence from parts of the media\, Ramiro proposes an audacious idea: a great open-air musical gathering in the countryside—an environmental Woodstock. Artists join them\, and what began with a handful of children and a song becomes a powerful collective movement\, culminating in a massive concert featuring renowned Latin American folk and rock legends such as León Gieco\, Lito Vitale\, Pablo Milanés\, and Rubén Blades. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains mature language and threats of violence. This film is recommended for ages 11 and older. \nThemes\nA teacher and his students want to perform a song for the community\, advocating for safer farming practices. They face formidable resistance\, and could understandably choose to give up at any point. When is a time in your life that giving up would have been easier than persisting? What motivated you to persist? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options. These accommodations are specific to each event\, and may not be available everywhere. SUMMARY:The Great Gatsby
DESCRIPTION:Please note: This performance is currently waitlist only. \nIn this famous Jazz Age story\, Nick Carraway\, a young man from Minnesota\, moves to New York in the summer of 1922. As he navigates the unfamiliar social scene\, he is invited to a lavish party thrown by the mysteriously wealthy Jay Gatsby\, who is trying to rekindle a relationship with Nick’s cousin\, Daisy. This faithful adaptation of the novel uses theatricality to capture the lyric and poetic nature of Fitzgerald’s prose. With themes of greed\, love\, disillusionment\, and inequality\, this Great American Classic feels both mythic and familiar in a new century. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nContains mature themes\, including domestic violence and suicide; gunshots;  simulated smoking; & water-based theatrical fog. This performance is recommended for ages 13 and older with parent/guardian discretion. \nThemes\nMany of the characters in this show (which takes place in 1922) value status\, wealth and appearance\, not knowing that less than a decade later the economy would crash and the country would experience The Great Depression. Values such as status\, wealth and appearance might not have been as helpful once everyone was struggling. At the very least\, those values may have been measured differently than earlier. What is a value that you think would serve you well both in good times and bad times?
