SUMMARY:PREM | Love: An Occupation
DESCRIPTION:Ananya Dance Theatre\, a professional ensemble of transnational feminist dance artists\, presents the world premiere of PREM | Love: An Occupation. Conceived and choreographed by Ananya Chatterjea\, PREM emerges from the recent crisis of federal occupation in the Twin Cities\, reaching toward transformation through practices of public love\, care\, and defiant joy. With ADT’s trademark power and percussive urgency\, PREM pens a love letter to the Twin Cities’ history of resolute resistance. \nRuntime is 90 minutes with no intermission. \nPlease note: This performance date is a final dress rehearsal. \nContent Warnings/Age Recommendations\nThis performance contains themes including occupation\, communal trauma and resistance. This experience is recommended for ages 14 and older. \nThemes\nConsider the title\, which includes the concept of love as a form of occupation. What are different contexts and meanings of the word occupation? With this in mind\, what might this performance be expressing about the year Minnesota has experienced? \nAccessibility\nMany performance venues offer accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair seating\, assistive listening\, sensory ear plugs\, ASL interpretation\, open captioning\, or audio description\, among other options.
