Welcome to the Project SUCCESS South High School page!

Hello students, staff and parents of South High School!

Trampled

I am Alex. I AM THE NEW KATHLEEN. Please help me find my way through South High. I was there the other day when the bell rang at 3pm and was practically trampled. South High, your numbers are incredible. Please don’t trample me, but guide me lovingly through the masses.

Seriously, though, I’m very excited about getting to know you all this year—I know that Kathleen left some mighty big shoes to fill, and I am going to do my best this year to fill them. Please don’t hesitate to give me some pointers, say ‘hey,’ or give me a hard time if it takes me a while to remember your name (after all, there are innumerable masses of you).

As always, look for those theater invitations in the mail, and don’t forget to sign-up for a college tour or two.

If you have any questions, or just want to say hi, feel free to contact me at alexb@projectsuccess.org.

Our Partnership

Project SUCCESS began serving South High in 2000 at the request of the school. The program began with a focus on the 9th grade classrooms. Today, we serve grades 9-12.

 Project SUCCESS offers the following programming at South High:

  • in-class, goal-setting workshops;
  • opportunities for each student and their family to attend between six and twelve free theater performances at 29 area theaters;
  • weekly after-school workshops;
  • all school field trips; and
  • state and national college tours.

About South High School

South High School provides their students with exemplary academic programs, a dynamic theater experience ranging from Shakespeare to new playwrights' productions, musical opportunities from jazz to classical styles and studies in the visual arts from traditional art forms of drawing, painting and ceramics to contemporary digital media.

Academic Programs: South is centered around three Small Learning Communities (SLCs): All Nations, Liberal Arts and Open. All of the SLCs provide preparation for college and other post-secondary opportunities.
