Hello Patrick Henry!
I hope that you are all coming back from summer break ready to take on the world. This year is very exciting because this is the first time we are with all four grades. Project SUCCESS started 18 years ago, but has only begun its partnership three years ago. Now going on its fourth year we can finally say we serve all students at Patrick Henry. Looking back at the year we had some great experiences.
The freshman always start off their year by exploring the things they want in life, from their own room, to peace in the world and wrote them down in a format called “I wanna hear a poem”.
The sophomore class begins to explore how their strengths and values and interests can help them accomplish that goal. The first workshop for sophomores is called “The object of my life” The students use objects to explore more about who they are and how they feel about themselves.
Juniors begin to explore the practical steps to accomplishing their goals. Last year was the first year we were able to take juniors to Chicago for a college tour over spring break.
Now this year Project SUCCESS will work with seniors, special education classes, and Life skills. We are thrilled and look forward to seeing you in your classes!

Here is a ”I wanna” poem written by Ben Hunter class 2013:
I want to touch the sky
And reach the top
Climb the ladder and never stop
Have to believe anything I want
Go for my goal and never stop.
Try my hardest and one day I’ll be on top
I want to hear a poem that’ll never stop
I want to listen to music
And do anything
I want to be outside enjoying the scene.
I want to hang out with my friends
And do my thing and
Not be judged at what I am and what I do.
-Ben Hunter
Here is one “The object of my life” poem Class 2012:
The genie lamp of my life is wishing everyone to get along,
No one is judgmental
Everyone positive
One wish
The genie lamp of my life is education
For my wishes that still need to be granted
To come true
The genie lamp of my life is the hopes and dreams in my life that
I hope to compete, the second chance, I was given at life.
