Welcome to the Project SUCCESS Olson Upper Academy page!

Hello and greetings to everyone!

This last semester has been a great one. The 6th graders have worked on realizing their dreams and what their future could look like. We created Dream posters and hung them up on the walls by the 6th grade classrooms. The 7th graders have participated in workshops that explore short term goals and the steps to completing those goals. The 7th graders have also written performance reports on one Project SUCCESS show that they attended. The 8th graders are working on transitioning to high school and also realizing what their future’s hold. The students had the opportunity to see performances by the Homemade Jamz Blues Band, The Good Dance, and A Christmas Carol.

Each student has endless possibilities of what they can become and with the support of their families, teachers, and community we can help each student realize their potential.

What a great first semester! If you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, feel free to contact me at laurag@projectsuccess.org.

At Olson Upper Academy, Project SUCCESS offers the following programming:

  • all-school fieldtrips.

About Olson Upper Academy

Olson students are divided into grade level teams. Every team has four teachers: Science, Math, Social Studies and English/Humanities. Students stay with their teams for three years. This allows for a feeling of a smaller community. Teachers are able to learn more about their students and better meet their learning needs. Students also rotate through classes called Lifeskills in order to have more diversity in their educational experience. These classes include Music, Gym, Media, and Art. ELL is also available during this block of the schedule.
