Welcome the the Project SUCCESS Battle Creek Middle School page!

Hello Battle Creek Middle School!
My name is Ginny and I’d like to welcome you to your second year of Project SUCCESS. I can’t wait to continue working with the 8th grade class and look forward to meeting all the new 7th graders and talking to you about your plans and dreams for the future. Since workshops are only once a month, I encourage you to check our Web site and read all the exciting things happening in the schools around the Twin Cities and to send me an e-mail with any questions you may have. E-mails just to say hello are more than welcome.
Also, be sure to check out all the great theatre events we have planned for you this school year. Don’t forget the three frees - tickets, rides, and childcare! This is going to be another great year!
Here are just a few of the exciting things to come:
7th Grade - Goals
The activities and workshops designed for you this year center around goal-setting and the necessary steps you need to take to achieve those goals. This can be anything from passing all your classes this fall to becoming a professional athlete. The sky is the limit! Also, be on the lookout for fun ways of getting the most out of theatre experiences and what it really means to dream big for yourself.
8th Grade - Transitions
Activities and workshops in the 8th grade focus on making transitions and how you choose to handle and grow during those moments. We’ll talk about who you are now and who you hope to be in the future. We’ll talk about values and how those values guide you throughout your life. And we will definitely talk about high school and what it takes to have a successful high school career.
If you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, feel free to contact me at ginnys@projectsuccess.org.

About Battle Creek Middle School
At Battle Creek Middle School, students are organized into female or male academic academies. English, math, social studies and science and all elective classes (except concert band) are taught single sex. Teachers use strategies for teaching boys and girls differently and continue to use the latest research when developing lesson plans and classroom activities.
We utilize a daily middle school advisory program in addition to our 6 class period day and feature a monthly core value to focus on.
Battle Creek Middle School is a school of high standards-based, academic rigor that demands high performance and engagement from its students, challenging them with a quality instructional program delivered by dedicated faculty and staff. Pre-Advanced Placement classes prepare students for course work in regular and advanced high school programs, including Advanced Placement (AP) or College in the Schools. Teachers model effective learning through Professional Learning Communities. The focus in the PLC's is increasing student learning and achievement.
Students also have the opportunity of studying world languages, computer technology, music, physical education and visual arts as part of our many elective class options. BCMS is the only Saint Paul middle school to offer American Indian Studies classes, which include art and music, Ojibwe, and Lakota.
