Welcome to the Project SUCCESS Afrocentric Academy's page!
Hello students, staff and parents of the Afrocentric Academy.
I’m Ryan, and I am the new Project SUCCESS Facilitator at Afrocentric Academy this year. Last year, I served as an Americorps Promise Fellow, where I had a chance to meet a lot of you by help Sharifa with her workshops at Afrocentric. Now, I am so very excited to be up in front of the classroom again working directly with you, especially since what we are talking mostly about are your dreams and goals.
If you have any questions or you just want to say hello, feel free to connect with me at ryans@projectsuccess.org.
Our Partnership
Project SUCCESS is proud to support Afrocentric in its first year as an individual program. Project SUCCESS has been a presence in the building for 10 years working with Franklin Middle School. Project SUCCESS began working with Franklin as a pilot project designed by Youth Trust to connect area business with local schools. ADC Telecommunications, Dain Rauscher and General Mills were our founding partners at Franklin.
At Afrocentric, Project SUCCESS offers the following programming:
-In-class, goal-setting workshops;
-Opportunities for each student and their family to attend between six and twelve free theater performances at 26 area theaters; and
-All-school field trips.
