Facilitator
Full time, salaried position $30,000, plus excellent benefits
Occasional evenings/week-ends required

 
About Project SUCCESS

Project SUCCESS is a fifteen-year old non-profit youth-development organization that works with students over a six-year period, from middle school through high school, to help them develop life skills and inspire them to act on their dreams. Through in-school goal-setting workshops, an innovative theater program, and after-school individual services, students learn to make informed choices and plan for meaningful futures. We currently serve more than 8,000 students in nine schools. We are a dedicated team looking for a passionate, motivated team player! Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and facilitate in-school, goal-setting workshops for grades 6-12
  • Design new and refine existing workshop curriculum
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with school staff. Work in partnership with teachers to support the individual needs of students
  • Coordinate with career counselors and other school staff to assist students with their after graduation plans
  • Work with students one-on-one when necessary
  • Maintain up-to-date journal and prepare detailed reports of activities
  • Work closely with other facilitators to share ideas and to support each other
  • Provide positive solutions to any concerns or problems that may arise
  • Study and prepare for the plays (i.e., read scripts, attend dress rehearsals, attend post-play discussions)
  • Create innovative ways to promote the plays and to encourage family participation in the theater experiences
  • Assist as a host/chaperone at theater performances
  • Participate in Project SUCCESS special events, trips and activities when needed (they're fun!)

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a leadership role with youth; ability to motivate, teach, and be a mentor
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse groups of people
  • Passionate about wanting to help students achieve their best
  • Knowledge of the inner workings of public schools and/or professional theaters desired but not required
  • High energy, Positive attitude, Enjoys challenging work, Enthusiastic
  • Extremely reliable, Self-motivated, Well organized, Adaptable, Creative
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Belief in the potential of young people and their ability to succeed
