Since launching Project SUCCESS with 200 seniors at North High in 1993, we have grown to serve over 11,600 students in St. Paul and Minneapolis Public Schools, including, for the first time this year, students at Edison High School in Minneapolis.
We are now only one high school away from serving every single 9th- 12th grader in Minneapolis’ seven core high schools. By adding Roosevelt High School to our program over the next year, 96% of all high school students in Minneapolis will participate in Project SUCCESS’ unique curriculum and activities that broaden their world-views.
On November 18, 2011, Project SUCCESS board member Karla Ekdahl was recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as Minnesota's 2011 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser at the Philanthropy Day Awards Event.
Over the past 15 years, Karla has dedicated an extraordinary amount of time, energy and passion to Project SUCCESS and many other important nonprofits in our community. The impact of her contribution on Project SUCCESS’ growth and the organization’s ability to serve young people and their families is immeasurable. Karla shares our bold vision: Every child entering middle school will graduate high school with a plan for his or her future.
Help us honor Karla with a special gift made in her name. Your gift will support priorities dear to Karla, such as our goal of bringing Project SUCCESS to Roosevelt High School. With your support, Project SUCCESS can come closer to fully realizing Karla’s vision, our vision, and the visions of over 12,800 youth by next year.
If you write "In Honor of Karla" in the Special Instructions section of the online gift form, we will let her know if your gift!
In May 2010, the Board of Directors of Project SUCCESS announced the creation of the Adrienne Diercks Scholarship Fund to fund participation fees for any of Project SUCCESS' 10,600 students in need of support to attend college tours, BWCA trips and other unique experiences that augment the monthly Project SUCCESS-led workshops and theater experiences which are free and open to all.
Since then, the fund has helped hundreds of Minneapolis and Saint Paul youth have unique, transformative experiences that will help them dream about and plan for their futures. Please help Project SUCCESS continue to make these experiences accessible to all students, and support them in becoming the best people they can possibly be. Make a gift online by using the form on this page, and typing "Scholarship" in the Special Instructions.
On June 18th 2011, Project SUCCESS’ supporters Anne and David Winker-Morey left on a 417 day bike trip around the United States. As part of their adventure they are raising money for three local organizations including funds to help Project SUCCESS expand programming to Anthony Middle School in Minneapolis. They invite others to support our Anthony Fund, through the link below. Click here to learn more about the trip and follow their progress on their Web site. Thank you, Anne and Dave, for including Project SUCCESS in your journey!
